If you want to automate the process of publishing blog posts to your social media accounts using Ocoya's RSS feature, you will need to find the RSS feed URL for the websites or channels you want to integrate. Here are several methods you can use to find RSS feed URLs for different cases:

Regular Websites:

(1) Look for the RSS icon: Some websites have an orange RSS icon, usually located in the header, sidebar, or footer of the webpage. The icon signifies the presence of an RSS feed. If you see this icon, follow these steps:

  • Click on the RSS icon. It will redirect you to the RSS link or the feed page.

  • Copy the URL from the address bar and proceed to import it into Ocoya.

(2) Get the RSS Feed from the page source: If you can't find an RSS icon on the website, you can search for the RSS feed URL in the page source. Follow these steps:

  • Go to the website you want to find the RSS feed for.

  • Right-click anywhere on the page and select "View page source."

  • Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+U (Windows) or Cmd+U (Mac) to access the page source.

  • In the page source, press Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F) to open the search bar.

  • Type "RSS" in the search bar and hit Enter.

  • If the website has an RSS feed, the search should highlight the relevant line containing the RSS URL.

  • Copy the RSS URL and import it into Ocoya.

(3) Get the Feed by typing the link: In some cases, the RSS feed URL may not be easily discoverable in the page source. In such situations, you can try guessing the URL using common patterns. Here are some common options to try:

  • {website URL}/feed/

  • {website URL}/rss/

  • {website URL}/blog/feed/

  • {website URL}/blog/rss/

  • {website URL}/rss.xml

  • {website URL}/blog/rss.xml

  • Test each of these options by substituting {website URL} with the actual domain of the website you are interested in.

  • For example this is the RSS feed for Ocoya's blog: www.ocoya.com/blog/rss.xml

  • Copy the correct RSS feed URL and import it into Ocoya.

(4) Use a browser extension: Another option is to utilize browser extensions designed to facilitate the search for RSS feed URLs. One recommended extension is Get RSS Feed URL. Follow these steps:

  • Install the Get RSS Feed URL extension for your preferred web browser.

  • Visit the website you want to find the RSS feed for.

  • Click on the RSS icon added by the extension in your browser's toolbar.

  • If a valid RSS feed is found, the extension will display the URL.

  • Copy the RSS feed URL and import it into Ocoya.

Please note that when searching for the RSS feed URL, ensure that the link you find is not a comments feed (e.g., /comments/feed). Comments feeds are different from the main content feed.

Common RSS sources:

Many websites, especially those built using WordPress, offer easily discoverable RSS feeds. Here's how to find them:

  1. For WordPress websites: Simply add "/feed" to the end of the website's URL. For example, if the website URL is "https://justinpot.com," the RSS feed URL would be "https://justinpot.com/feed." This method works for a significant number of websites.

  2. For Tumblr websites: Add "/rss" to the end of the URL. For example, if the website URL is "https://example.tumblr.com," the RSS feed URL would be "https://example.tumblr.com/rss."

  3. For Blogger websites: Add "feeds/posts/default" to the end of the URL. For example, if the website URL is "https://example.blogspot.com," the RSS feed URL would be "https://example.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default."

  4. For Medium publications: Add "/feed/" before the publication's name in the URL. For example, if the website URL is "https://medium.com/example-site," the RSS feed URL would be "https://medium.com/feed/example-site."

YouTube Channel:

Every YouTube channel also has an RSS feed which you can utilise to publish content. here's how to find it:

  • Go to the YouTube channel you want to find the RSS feed for.

  • Right-click anywhere on the page and select "View page source."

  • Use Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F) to open the search bar.

Once you have obtained the RSS feed URLs for the websites or channels you want to integrate, you can easily configure the RSS feature in Ocoya and start automatically publishing blog posts to your social media accounts.
